Winners of the province wide contest were announced at the awards reception, which took place at the Vancouver Convention Centre on the evening of October 25, 2010.

 “ A large part of our clean energy future relies upon wise and efficient use of electricity, “ says BC hydro President and CEO, David Cobb. “Congratulations to our Power Smart finalists, leaders, winners, and more importantly, thank you for helping us to build an energy efficient culture in BC.”

  “ A home should be more than affordable to purchase,” says Eric Prall owner of Glacier Creek. “It should also provide the owner with low operating and maintenance costs as well as a healthy comfortable environment. We are very pleased to have received this award in recognition of our efforts”

 The Glacier Duplexes at Rainbow are a Whistler Housing Authority resident restricted project, with homes featuring triple glazed windows, 2 pound spray in place insulation throughout and an heat recovery ventilation system that allows each home to test out at an 80 EnerGuide rating. Energy star appliances and energy efficient lighting is used through out.  An optional solar package is also available for those who want to further reduce their power usage.

The award showcases Glacier Creek’s relationship with the Whistler Housing Authority and their ability to build affordable housing. Located in Athletes Village in whistler this building features 55 bachelor and 1 bedroom apartments. Features salvaged wood from the trees of the 2007 wind storm at Stanley Park and a district energy system.
